Father Bob comes with a wide pastoral experience, especially in working with youth (he is a former basketball coach). He also pursued graduate studies in Marian Theology and taught at the University of Dayton and St. Mary's University in San Antonio. Father Bob Hogan's vows in the Society of Mary have been suspended so that he can become a member of the Brothers of the Beloved Disciple, and Archbishop Gomez has accepted him into the process of incardination into the Archdiocese of San Antonio, to which the new community of the Brothers of the Beloved Disciple is attached. That means that he, and Fr. Will Combs, will be a canonically full member of the Brothers of the Beloved Disciple, which is in the first stage of becoming an Institute of Consecrated Life. Before coming to San Antonio, Father Bob was liaison for the Charismatic Renewal in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. He has now been selected as a member of the National Service Committee of the Charismatic Renewal and since August 1, 2007 has been working with Bishop Thomas Flanagan as an associate liaison for the Charismatic Renewal in San Antonio. Formerly pastor at St. Mary Magdalen, he will now devote his time to ministry in the Charismatic renewal for the Archdiocese of San Antonio and the formation program of the Brothers of the Beloved Disciple.
